Rapid Changeover, or Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), is a systematic process by which downtime due to die changes is minimized. The intent is to increase the available capacity of capital equipment and promote small batch size production.
At the completion of this training program, the participants will be able to understand the impact of long changeover times on equipment efficiency and productivity. Participants will come to understand the systemic way to analyze, reduce and sustain minimum downtime due to changeovers.
